My first whale painting since graduating from my MFA course. I plan to do a lot more since I love playing with scale and my leviathan paintings have always sold well (almost as well as my Highland Cow paintings.....but not quite)
I originally intended for the painted illustration to be on an A2 MDF board but after a trek around Edinburgh the only piece of wood I could find was part of a desk. Naturally the painting became longer which I think has helped demonstrate the sheer scale of this whale and the fragility of the sail boat. Anyway I hope you all like it.....
